Volunteer Opportunties
Whether you are willing and able to help out at an upcoming PTO event or are ready to make a more serious commitment by chairing one of the many PTO committees, the Waterbury PTO welcomes your enthusiasm and assistance. Following please find a summary of current opportunities for you to get involved. If you are interested in learning more about any of these positions, please email the Waterbury PTO at waterburypto@yahoo.com.
We are looking for a volunteer to take over the Treasurer Accounts Payable position immediately. Please call Lorie Catrambone at (630) 539-1939 for more information.
All other Waterbury PTO chair positions are currently filled. However, should a need arise, the PTO will post openings on this page. If there is a position you are interested in helping out with in the future, we encourage you to contact the current chair so you can learn the ropes and lend a hand where needed.
Volunteers are also needed for a wide array of special events and ongoing activities that the PTO organizes throughout the school year. Following please find a list of opportunities for the second half of the school year. If you would like to sign-up for any of these activities, please complete the volunteer registration form and return it to school with your child(ren) or contact the chairperson(s) listed for additional information. On Friday, May 21, the Waterbury PTO will once again host Explore More Day - a day for all students (2nd - 5th grade) to “explore” a variety of interests. It is not a career day, a day to sell things or a lecture day. Instead, Explore More Day is a “hands on" day where children make projects to take home, engage in physical activity and have a great time. Kindergarten and First Grade participate in an alternate program.
At this time, there are 3 classes that the children just love, but we do not have teachers. If we do not find anyone to teach these classes, we will unfortunately not be able to offer them this year. The classes are:
Slime Gak and Ooze
Ice Cream Sundaes
Baseball
If you have any interest in leading one of these classes, please contact Tricia Elbl at (630) 671-9534 or triciaelbl@gmail.com or Amisha Baker at (630) 980-0084 or amishapa@yahoo.com. We strongly encourage you to consider sharing in this fun day with your child. We are certain you will find it to be an enjoyable, worthwhile experience.
Market Day takes place once a month on Wednesdays. Volunteers are needed to organize and fill orders. Please note that it is not mandatory for volunteers to help every month. Times needed are 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM. Please contact Lorie Catrambone at 630-539-1939 with any questions.
